What does the County Republican Party Chairman DO !?

The Republican Party County Chairman in Texas is the manager and official spokesperson for the Party on county level issues. As the Chairman of the County Republican Executive Committee, he controls the agenda and debate on key issues, and has significant responsibilities for elections and party functions:

Administer Elections:

The County Chairman is responsible for administering the Republican primary and runoff elections within the county. Nation-wide, including Texas, election integrity is a top concern for about half of the electorate. Electronic voting has proven to be susceptible to fraud, so our State Republican Party and National Republican Party have both called for a return to paper ballots. I support the Republican Party of Texas' Legislative Priority to Secure Texas Elections, including:

I drafted a resolution to implement this requirement for Palo Pinto County, but the current Chair used her parliamentary powers to sow enough confusion to block this initiative.

Lead the County Executive Committee (CEC):

The chairman presides over the CEC, which is composed of all the county's precinct chairs. The Palo Pinto County CEC has devolved over the years into simply going through the required motion of "having meetings". It is not a thoughtful forum for expanding and advocating conservative principles. Steve Gray wants the CEC to be a force to advocate for the State Republican Party's key Legislative Priorities:

Organize Conventions:

The chairman is responsible for organizing and supervising both the precinct and county conventions. In the 2024 local conventions, the Palo Pinto County Conservatives amd I brought out the biggest County Convention attendance in recent memory. I lead floor debates on a number of issues, including replacing the County delegation's "usual suspects" with a Conservative voting block that strengthened the Texas Conservative movement at the State Convention.

Promote and Grow the Republican Party:

The Chairman should promote Republican Party principles and candidates in the community, with a focus on growing the local party, registering voters, and increasing voter turnout. Sadly, the Republican Party in Palo Pinto County is fairly stagnant, with no growth and no fund raising. It is not educating the public. I am part of the leadership team that has brought significant conservative thought leadership to Palo Pinto County. People like:

Official Communications:

The chairman acts as a primary point of contact for the Secretary of State's office on election matters, and more importantly, with county voters. I drafted a resolution for this October's CEC meeting to advocate for reductions of Mineral Wells Water Rate increases. (The increases are higher than the level required to service current debt.) The resolution passed in spite of a surprising number of objections, and it required publishing in all Mineral Wells publications. To date, current leadership has not gotten it published in the Palo Pinto Press. I specifically included the requirement to publish this rate reduction demand so that voters would know that the Republican Party of Palo Pinto is looking out for THEM!

Interact with Our Elected Officials

Our elected officials at the City, County, State, and Federal level need to know that the Republican voters of Palo Pinto County care about how they vote and are watching. I support holding our elected officials to principles like those found in 2024's "Contract with Texas":
